Self Nutrition Program

Nourishing the Body, Honouring the Self
  Service Overview
The Self-Nutrition Program is a therapeutic and educational service that empowers participants to understand their unique nutritional needs    and develop a personalized, sustainable approach to food and self-care. This program is designed to cultivate self-love, body awareness,        and confidence in managing one’s health through the lens of nourishment, not restriction.

Participants are guided through a journey of nutritional self-discovery, learning the foundational principles of nutrition, how to listen to their   body’s signals, and how to create and implement a daily eating plan tailored to their health goals, preferences, lifestyle, and any cultural or   medical considerations.

 Core Elements of the Program
1.Nutritional Education Tailored to the Individual
      •   Participants explore the basics of macro- and micronutrients, gut health, hydration, and the impact of food on physical, mental, and                  emotional well-being.
      •   Education is culturally responsive and trauma-informed, acknowledging past food-related trauma or disordered eating patterns.
      •   Clients learn how to honour their body’s voice when it comes to hunger, fullness, and satisfaction.
  2.Personalized Nourishment Planning
      •   Through reflection and guided support, participants create a realistic and nourishing nutrition plan that aligns with their personal health             goals (e.g., managing weight, improving mood, reducing inflammation, or supporting energy).
      •   The plan includes flexibility, joy, and mindfulness, so participants feel free from shame or guilt about food choices.
  3.Implementation in Daily Life
      •   The program supports participants in developing practical strategies for meal preparation, mindful eating, grocery shopping on a                       budget, and navigating food environments that may be challenging.
      •   Participants may engage in cooking therapy sessions, community kitchen groups, or home-based guidance for real-life implementation.
  4.Mindful Eating and Self-Connection
      •   Participants are encouraged to approach food as a ritual of self-care, gratitude, and connection to the Earth.
      •   Practices such as mindful eating, intention setting before meals, and journaling foster a deeper relationship with food as medicine and             nourishment.

  Therapeutic Benefits
   •   Increased Self-Love and Body Trust: By learning to listen to the body’s needs and respecting its rhythms, participants begin to foster               genuine care and appreciation for their physical form.
   •   Improved Health Outcomes: Supports chronic health conditions like obesity, diabetes, anxiety, and fatigue through sustainable lifestyle           changes.
   •   Emotional Regulation and Empowerment: Balanced nutrition directly supports mood, energy, and resilience, giving participants more               tools for emotional well-being.
   •   Trauma Recovery Through Nourishment: For those healing from neglect, abuse, or eating disorders, this program restores a sense of             safety and agency around food.

Alignment with Government and Community Goals

Alignment with Universal Goals of Holistic Wellness
The Self-Nutrition Program recognizes that nourishment is not just physical—it is spiritual and emotional. By learning to nourish ourselves   with intention and respect, we participate in a universal act of healing. This service is not just about food—it is about restoring wholeness,   choosing kindness over criticism, and honouring the sacred vessel that carries us through life.

Through this program, we become caretakers of ourselves, our families, and the Earth—aligned with the greater mission of healing,             balance, and harmony in the universe.
